Mr. Michael Shanley
Mr. Michael Shanley has always been a lifelong performer and appreciator of music. After graduating from Penn State in 2018, he began work at St. Elizabeth’s Parish School, building their band program from the ground up. During his time at Penn State, he performed in the Blue Band’s Athletic Bands on the tenor saxophone, serving as section leader as well as taking on the role of band manager towards the end of his time there. Along with St. Elizabeth, Michael also worked at St. Agnes in West Chester and St. Thomas the Apostle in Glen Mills as their band directors. He has been involved with the Archdiocesan Band Festivals since 2019, including conducting the Festival Band in 2024.
Michael is also a member of the Concordia Choral Arts, a non-profit choir performing around the Philadelphia area. He is a founding member of the Last Minute Addition barbershop quartet.
He is currently in the masters program for music education at West Chester University.
